Since the end of 2017, Google has been the default search engine on your iPhone. Whilst i’m happy with this as i’m not a massive fan of others like Bing and Yahoo some people aren’t.
So by default you get search results that look like this:
So in this short post I’m going to show you how you can change your default search from Google to Bing, Yahoo or DuckDuckGo.
To begin you want to head to the ‘Settings’ app on your iOS device.
Access the settings App.
Scroll down until you see ‘Safari’ and click on the link
This is the Safari Settings page. There’s a link that say’s ‘Search Engine’ simply click on there.
You can now see the four options you can chose from.
Simply select the one you would prefer and you’re done.
Now when you search in the Safari URL bar, you will receive search results from your chosen Search Engine. I changed mine to Bing, so my search results now look like this:
