Different domain names are worth different amounts. There’s many factors to take into account when knowing if a domain name is worth money.
Is it a .com?
Is it short?
Is it precise?
To give you an idea of how this works. Lets say you have a website that provides TV reviews. An ideal domain name may be TV.com, Television.com, TVReviews.com. All of them are good domain names, unlike TheBestTVReviewSite.com
If you want to know how much your domain name is worth then you can get an appraisal for the domain name.
A super simple one to use is the one provided by GoDaddy.com.
If you want to give it a go then head over to the GoDaddy domain appraisal page.
Once there enter your domain name and click ‘Go Value’ . Your ‘value’ will be displayed.
GoDaddy’s domain appraisal is still in Beta, so I can’t speak for it’s accuracy. At the moment it takes into account comparable domains sold, keyword usage and domain extension. It doesn’t consider if the domain is used and it’s traffic. If you would like to know how much your website is worth then I will cover that in a different post.
It’s also worth noting that these valuations are estimates.
No matter how much your Domain name is worth, you will still have to sell it (assuming that’s your intention).
